Described by designer/programmer Ronen Habot as "quite similar to the fifth screen of the Atari VCS's Phoenix," Castle Blast is a slide-and-shoot game in which a small ship faces off against a large flying saucer. The goal is to destroy the castle at the top of the saucer, which is protected by a thick energy shield. As the game progresses, the levels become increasingly difficult, with hazards such as tanks, energy beams, and protective stars appearing to stand in your way. Castle Blast was self-published at the 2002 Classic Gaming Expo as an authentic Atari 5200 cartridge.
